Our History
Nestled on the shores of Lake Naivasha in Kenya, Elsamere Conservation Centre is a top tier resort that offers a unique blend of luxurious hotelling and wildlife conservation. Founded in the 1960s by Joy and George Adamson, the centre has become a prime destination for those seeking a memorable vacation experience that combines comfort with conservation.
The resort features a range of accommodation options to suit different preferences and budgets. Guests can choose from cozy cottages, spacious suites, or deluxe rooms, all of which are tastefully furnished and equipped with modern amenities. The resort also has a restaurant that serves a variety of delicious meals, including vegetarian and non-vegetarian options, made from fresh, locally sourced ingredients.
But what sets Elsamere apart from other resorts is its focus on wildlife conservation. The centre has a rich history of conservation work, dating back to Joy Adamson’s pioneering efforts to rehabilitate and release captive-bred lions back into the wild. Today, Elsamere continues to play a vital role in wildlife conservation, with a particular focus on the protection of endangered species such as the Grevy’s zebra and the Rothschild’s giraffe.

What Customer Say
Annette Walter2023-01-23Traumhafte Lage am Naivasha-See, kleine, außergewöhnliche Lodge.

Sheila Mugo2023-01-01Great place to relax. Good environment. Wild animals at night. Boat ride was excellent. The bonfire at night was a good place to unwind and talk. I liked the Joy Adamson museum and I also watched the born free documentary which was quite touching. Food is good. Service excellent, staff very friendly.
Vincent W2023-01-01Former home the Adamson and Elsa the lioness. There is a museum honoring the conservation efforts of Joy and George. There are a few cottages on the premises. They offer boat rides.
BIPIN SHAH2022-12-24Location is good with the lake view. Rooms are basic but undergoing renovation in Nov 2022. It is fairly affordable to other stays comparatively in Naivasha which is big plus. Animals like zebras and giraffes spotted on site. The place has a history on Elsa the lioness.
