Visit and Experience

Once home for the Adamsons, Elsamere is a unique destination in Naivasha. Sitting on the edge of the vast lake Naivasha, in Kenya’s Rift Valley. It is a wildlife retreat like no other.
A boat trip on the lake; a visit to Hells Gate National park; a walk on Crescent island are just a few of the exciting options on your doorstep.

At Elsamere history connects with the future as conservation is at the heart of everything, founded by the story of Born Free. Here you can experience the sights and sounds of nature that inspired the Adamsons to change conservation for ever. Understand a little more of the life they enjoyed by looking at Joy’s sketch books, and many more of her and George’s possessions.

For years I had been looking for a house where George and I could live. Eventually I found a place  that seemed to combine all we wished for. It would be impossible to imagine a more attractive sight for a home..We decided to call our home ,Elsamere. Joy Adamson

Our accommodation is cosy and limited to just 20 guests so there is always a personal service, with delicious meals and a traditional style high tea that remains the best in Kenya!

However, you will rarely dine alone with us. We are a bird watchers paradise, surrounded by constant bird song and we have many visitors, feathered and furry, on our lawns throughout the day.
